Tasmanian police have charged four men from Hobart's northern suburbs with illegally recording sex acts on mobile phones.
After a four-month investigation police have laid charges against two 18-year-olds, a 19-year-old and another man aged 20 from Chigwell and Brighton.
They face charges of either possessing recordings and images, or making them, in breach of privacy.
Police allege material was found on mobile phones and recorded in private homes.
Detective senior constable Karina Lane says the alleged offenders and victims are known to each other.
'It's very disturbing that people are unaware that taking these sorts of images and recordings is not only against moral standings, but its also illegal and its something that should be considered wrong in all aspects,' she said.
The men will face court later this month and next month.
