We're digging through the numbers, but it doesn't look good so far. Shares are down almost 4%.
Here's the scorecard:
EPS: 0.05 Euros
Sales: 3.5 billion Euros
Nokia says its Lumia phones, the devices that run Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system, did not sell as well as expected because of increased competition from other manufacturers. It blamed the fact that other companies are selling smartphones cheaply for the lack of interest in Nokia handsets.
(However, Nokia makes a few cheap Windows Phone models too.)
Remember, Microsoft is still in the process of buying Nokia's smartphone and tablet business for $7.2 billion, but the deal hasn't gone through yet. Everything should be finalized early this year.
Nokia announced today that it may offer a dividend following the sale of its handset business to Nokia.
Sales are still declining for Nokia year over year. It had 4.4 billion Euros in sales for the same quarter a year ago, versus the 3.5 billion this year.
Developing... refresh for the latest.
