On the heels of its WhatsApp data plan (which offers data only for the messaging app), SingTel has launched a similar offer for Facebook. Pegged at a low rate of $0.50 a day and $6 for 30 days, the mobile data plan will allow customers with voice only plans on their handsets to access the social networking site.
Unfortunately, browsing the site is all you can do with the Facebook plan. If you intend to acess an external link, you will be warned that additional charges will be incurred before you can proceed. This means that if your buddies share URLs and videos that aren't hosted on Facebook, you won't be able to view them without paying extra.
Lastly, the plan is compatible with devices running iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry, though it's likely you may already have an data plan if you're using such a device. The Facebook plan also works on phones that support the Java-based app version of the social network.
